Understanding Products and Product Sets

Before diving into the steps, it's important to understand how Artelo structures listings:

  • Products: These are the individual items sold, such as a 12x16 framed print. Each variant in an Etsy or Shopify listing corresponds to a product.

  • Product Sets: These are groups of products that include multiple sizes, frame options, or even different product types. A product set functions like a folder that holds all the product options available in a single e-commerce listing (e.g., a 12x16 framed print and a 20x20 framed print).

Why Use a Product Set?

If you have an Etsy or Shopify listing containing multiple product types (like individual framed prints and a set of three prints), you need to include them in one product set. Artelo allows only one product set per listing, meaning everything Artelo fulfills for that listing must be included in that product set.

Creating a Product Set with Multiple Product Types

Let's walk through an example: a listing that includes an individual print and a set of three prints.

Step 1: Create a Product Set

  1. On Artelo’s platform, go to the menu and click Product Catalog.

  2. Click Create Product Set.

Step 2: Add Product Types

If You Use a Template (Recommended for Repeated Listings):

Using a template will save time if you frequently create listings with the same combination of product types (more on this below.)

  • Select an existing template, add designs, and click Done.

  • Skip to Step 4 to decide whether to publish, connect, or save your product set.

If You Start from Scratch (For One-Time Use):

  1. Click Add Product Type.

  2. Select Individual Art Print.

  3. Configure your paper type, framing options, sizes, and other details.

  4. Click Add Designs to Products → Upload your design files → Finalize Product.

  5. Name your product set.

  6. Click Add Product Type again.

  7. Select Set of 3 Art Prints.

  8. Repeat the same process (choose paper, frames, sizes, add designs, and finalize).

  9. Repeat the process if you need to add more product types.

  10. When finished, click Done.

Step 3: Choose What to Do Next

Now that your product set is created, you have four options:

  1. Add Product to Your Store → Create a new listing with these products.

  2. Connect Products to Existing Store Listings → Attach them to an existing Etsy/Shopify listing.

  3. Create an Order for This Product → Place a one-time order for these items.

  4. I’ll Do It Later → Save the product set and decide later.

Step 4: Publish the Listing (If You Selected “Add Product to Your Store”)

  1. Choose which store(s) to publish to.

  2. Upload listing images.

  3. Select shipping profiles.

  4. Configure variants.

  5. Enter listing details.

  6. Approve & Publish the listing.

Using Templates to Save Time (Recommended for Frequent Listings)

If you regularly create listings with the same product combinations (e.g., individual print + set of 3 prints), using templates will eliminate the need to manually configure every detail.

How to Create a Template:

  1. Go to the Templates Page → Click Create Template.

  2. Select the store(s) where this template will be used.

  3. Name the template and click Add Product Type.

  4. Add the first product type (e.g., Individual Art Print):

    • Choose paper, framing, sizes, etc.

    • Click Add 1 (or however many) Product.

  5. Add the second product type (e.g., Set of 3 Art Prints):

    • Choose paper, framing, sizes, etc.

    • Click Add 1 (or however many) Product.

  6. Click Next, then configure listing images, shipping profiles, variants, and details.

  7. Click Done.

How to Use a Template:

  1. Go to the My Products page.

  2. Click Create Product Set.

  3. Select Start from Existing Template and choose the one you created.

  4. Add designs to each product.

  5. Click Done.

  6. Choose whether to publish, connect to an existing listing, create an order, or save for later.

Editing & Managing Product Sets

If you save a product set for later, you can find it under My Products. You can:

  • Add it to a new or existing listing by clicking the three dots on the right and selecting Connect to Existing Listing or Connect to New Listing.

  • Edit it anytime; don’t worry, nothing is permanent!

Summary

  • Product Sets allow multiple product types to be included in a single Etsy/Shopify listing.

  • If your listing contains different product types (like an individual framed print and a set of 3 prints), they must be added to one product set.

  • Using templates saves time for repeated product combinations.

  • Once a product set is created, you can publish, connect, or save it for later.
