In many listings, sellers offer a mix of sizes, formats, or print types. Some of these can be fulfilled by Artelo (like unframed or framed prints), while others, such as acrylics, metals, or oversized formats, are filled by another provider.
This article walks through real examples that show you how to:
Connect only the variants Artelo can fulfill
Add new frame options without affecting your current setup
Handle sizes that can be printed but not framed
Leave unsupported formats like acrylic untouched
Exclude sizes Artelo doesn’t offer while syncing the rest of the listing
Each case is designed to reflect a specific type of listing structure, so you can follow the one that matches your needs and confidently link your products to Artelo without disrupting the parts of your listing that rely on another fulfillment method.
Each case is designed to reflect a specific type of listing structure. You can follow the one that matches your own and link your products to Artelo without affecting the parts of your listing that are fulfilled elsewhere.
Quick Overview of Each Example Case:
Case 1: You only want to connect existing unframed variants and leave the rest of your listing (like acrylic or metal) untouched.
Case 2: You want to connect existing unframed prints, add new framed options, and leave other formats (like acrylic) as they are.
Case 3: You want to offer framed options for some sizes, but one size can't be framed. That size should be offered unframed only.
Case 4: You want to connect unframed and framed prints, add a new unframed size, and leave unsupported formats like acrylic untouched.
Case 5: Your listing includes one or more sizes that Artelo can’t fulfill. You want to connect only the supported sizes and ignore the rest.
Case 1: Connecting Unframed Prints Without Affecting Other Options
For listings where only certain existing variants (like unframed prints) should be fulfilled by Artelo
Some Etsy listings include product types that Artelo doesn’t fulfill, like acrylic or metal prints, alongside options that Artelo can handle, like unframed paper prints.
This example walks through connecting only the variants you want to be fulfilled by Artelo while keeping the rest of your listing active and untouched. This is helpful in any situation where:
You're offering multiple product formats within one listing
Only specific formats (like unframed prints) should be connected to Artelo
You want to avoid disrupting your existing structure, variants, or fulfillment setup
Example:
A seller offers two sizes of a print, 12x16 and 16x20, with each size available in two formats:
Artelo doesn’t support acrylic, so in this case, we’ll connect only the unframed variants while leaving the acrylic ones untouched.
Here’s how to do that:
Step 1: Create a Product Template
If you plan to do this often (i.e., only link unframed versions of your art), create a reusable template to speed things up. You can edit this later.
Go to your Templates page in Artelo and click Create Template.
Select which stores you want products made from this template to be published to.
Click Add Product Type, choose Individual Art Print, select your paper type, check Unframed, and then select 12x16 and 16x20.
Click Add 2 Products in the top right corner, then Next.
Add your listing images (or skip if you’ll use images already on your Etsy listing).
Choose a shipping profile and click Configure Variants.
Step 2: Set Up Matching Variations
Since your Etsy listing already uses dropdowns for Size and Display Options (Unframed / Acrylic), you’ll want to match that structure inside Artelo so the integration works smoothly.
My sizes are listed correctly and don't need editing. If you need to edit them, click the yellow Edit button.
Add variation groups to mirror your Etsy listing:
(Optional) Add retail pricing and listing details now, or you can do this later.
Click Done to finish your template.
Step 3: Create Your Product
Back on the Templates page, find the template you just made.
Click Create Product Set.
Add your artwork by clicking Add Designs.
Name your product and click Done.
Step 4: Link to Your Existing Etsy Listing
On the next screen, click Connect to an existing listing.
You’ll see the Template Override Settings:
Variant Prices – Updates prices based on your template
Shipping Profile Settings – Updates shipping info from your template
Variation Structure – Updates the variation dropdowns to match your template
Since you already set up the correct variation structure earlier, select Variation Structure. If you already included prices and shipping profiles in your templates, you can check those boxes, too.
Search for your Etsy listing by title and select it.
You’ll now match each Artelo product to the correct variant:
Step 5: Review and Finalize
Add listing images if needed (or skip).
Choose your shipping profile.
Double-check your variant matches.
Set your retail price.
If you have many variants, use bulk pricing: it will only apply to the variants linked to Artelo, not the ones you're fulfilling elsewhere.
Ensure the other variant prices (like Acrylic) are still correct.
Review your listing details or edit if needed.
Click Approve Changes and Publish your listing.
That’s it! You’ve successfully linked only the unframed prints in your Etsy listing to Artelo. The acrylic versions will stay exactly as they are.
If you have similar listings, reuse the same template to save time.
Case 2: Connecting Unframed Prints and Adding Framed Variants Without Affecting Other Options
For listings where you want to link existing unframed prints, add new framed variants, and leave unsupported formats unconnected
This guide covers a common situation: you want Artelo to fulfill only some options in your Etsy listing, like unframed and framed prints, but not others, such as acrylic prints.
Here’s the example we’ll walk through:
The Etsy listing originally included only unframed and acrylic prints in two sizes, 12x16 and 16x20.
In this case:
The unframed prints will be connected to Artelo
The acrylic prints will be left as-is and not touched (since Artelo doesn't fulfill acrylic)
Two new framed options, Premium Natural Oak and Premium Black Oak, will be added and fulfilled by Artelo
This kind of setup is useful if:
Your listing includes formats Artelo doesn’t support (like acrylic, canvas, or metal)
You want to connect just the unframed versions to Artelo
You’d like to introduce new frame options fulfilled through Artelo while keeping your original listing structure
The steps below show how to do exactly that: connect what Artelo can fulfill, add new frame variants, and avoid disrupting anything else in the listing.
Step 1: Create a Product Template
Go to your Templates page and click Create Template.
Choose which store(s) you want this template to publish to.
Click Add Product Type → Choose Individual Art Print.
Select your paper type, then check the boxes for:
Unframed
Premium Natural Oak
Premium Black Oak
Choose your sizes: 12x16 and 16x20.
Click Add 6 Products (2 sizes × 3 display options) in the top right corner, then Next.
Add listing images (or skip if your Etsy listing already has them).
Choose a shipping profile (or do this later).
Click Next to move to the variation step.
Step 2: Match Your Etsy Variations
Your Etsy listing already uses two dropdowns: Size and Display Options (Unframed / Acrylic). To keep everything aligned, we’ll match that same structure in Artelo.
Here's how it shows up on Artelo, but we'll need to add acrylic.
Keep the Size group as-is since your Etsy listing already has the correct sizes.
Press Edit on the second variation group (likely named “Frame”).
Change the name to Display Options to match your Etsy listing.
Press Add Option and type Acrylic (even though Artelo won't fulfill this, it’s important to include it so the variation structure matches).
Click Save.
This will allow Artelo to sync with your existing Etsy listing layout while avoiding interference with the Acrylic variants.
(Optional) Underneath, you can add your retail prices and listing details now or handle them after you connect your listing.
Click Done to finish the template.
Step 3: Create Your Product
Back on the Templates page, find the template you just made.
Click Create Product Set.
Click Add Designs, upload your art, name your product, and click Done.
Step 4: Connect to Your Etsy Listing
On the next screen, click Connect to an existing listing.
Choose the settings you want to override:
Search for your Etsy listing by title and select it.
Now you’ll map each Artelo product to the correct Etsy variant:
Match 12x16 Unframed to your Etsy 12x16 Unframed variant
Match 16x20 Unframed to your Etsy 16x20 Unframed variant
Don’t match anything to the Acrylic options. This keeps them untouched and fulfilled by your original supplier
Since the framed options are new, you’ll need to create new variants:
Next to each framed product, click the green plus icon
This will create a new framed variant within your Etsy listing so it appears alongside the existing ones
Final mapping:
Step 5: Finalize and Publish
Add listing images (optional, if needed).
Choose a shipping profile (if not done earlier).
Double-check that your variants are correct.
Also, if you have listing images showing different frame colors, check "set variant images based on this variation" under "display options."
Set your retail prices underneath. If you have many variants, use bulk pricing; this only applies to Artelo-connected variants.
Make sure you enter SKUs and that the pricing for Acrylic variants is still correct; Artelo will pull that data and transfer it into your Etsy listing.
Also, if you'd like to change the image for each option, press the trash can option on the image and choose a new one.
Review listing details and edit as needed.
Click Approve Changes and Publish your listing.
Now, your listing includes unframed and framed options fulfilled by Artelo, while your acrylic options remain connected to your original supplier without disruption.
Final updated Etsy listing:
Case 3: Handling Sizes That Can Be Printed but Not Framed by Artelo
For listings where one size can't be framed, but you still want to offer framing for the others
In this example, we’re walking through a setup where the seller offers a mix of sizes: some that Artelo can print and frame and one that can only be printed.
Example:
The seller currently offers unframed prints in three sizes: 12x16, 16x20, and 24x30.
They want to:
Offer all three sizes unframed
Offer Natural Oak and Black Oak frames for 12x16 and 16x20, but not 24x30, since Artelo doesn’t offer a frame for that size
This guide shows how to link all variants to Artelo while only enabling framed options for the sizes that support them.
This approach applies to any situation where:
You're working with at least one size that Artelo can print but not frame
You want to offer both framed and unframed prints for most sizes
You want to keep fulfillment centralized through Artelo without needing to edit or remove any part of your existing Etsy listing
Here’s how we’d set that up using this example.
Step 1: Create a Product Template
Go to your Templates page in Artelo and click Create Template.
Select which store(s) you want products from this template to be published to.
Click Add Product Type → choose Individual Art Print.
Select your paper type, then check the boxes for:
Choose your sizes: 12x16, 16x20, and 24x30.
Click Add 7 Products in the top right corner.
Name your template and click Next.
Add listing images (or skip if your Etsy listing already includes them).
Choose a shipping profile (or do this later), then click Configure Variants to continue.
On the next screen, review your variants:
(Optional) Add your retail prices and listing details now, or wait until after connecting your listing.
Click Done to finish your template.
Step 2: Create Your Product
Back on the Templates page, find the template you just created.
Click Create Product Set.
Click Add Designs, upload your artwork, name your product, and click Done.
Step 3: Connect to Your Etsy Listing
On the next screen, click Connect to an existing listing.
Choose the override settings you want to apply:
Search for your Etsy listing by title and select it.
Map each Artelo product to the correct Etsy variant:
Since the framed options are new, you’ll need to create new variants:
Final Mapping:
Step 4: Finalize and Publish
Add listing images (optional, if needed).
Choose a shipping profile (if not already selected).
Double-check that all your variants are correct.
Set your retail prices on each variant.
Make sure you enter SKUs for each variant.
To customize variant images:
Review your listing details and make any necessary edits.
Click Approve Changes and then Publish your listing.
Finished result on Etsy:
Case 4: Connecting Prints and Unframeable Sizes While Leaving Unsupported Options Untouched
For listings that include both Artelo-supported variants and others we don’t frame or fulfill
This example walks through a more complex setup where the seller offers:
Sizes that Artelo can print and frame
A size that can be printed but not framed
A product type that Artelo doesn’t fulfill at all (like acrylic)
Example:
The seller currently offers 12x16 and 16x20 in both unframed and acrylic formats.
They want to:
Connect 12x16 and 16x20 unframed prints to Artelo
Add new framed options (Premium Natural Oak and Premium Black Oak) for both sizes
Add 24x30 unframed as a new size, which can be printed but not framed
Keep their acrylic options unchanged, even though Artelo doesn’t fulfill them
This example shows how to connect only the variants that Artelo can fulfill, including printing unframeable sizes. It also shows how to add frame options where available and leave the rest of the listing, such as unsupported formats like acrylic, completely untouched.
Here’s how we’d set that up using this example:
Step 1: Create a Product Template
Go to your Templates page and click Create Template.
Select which store(s) you want this template to publish to.
Click Add Product Type → choose Individual Art Print.
Choose your paper type, then check the boxes for:
Select your sizes: 12x16, 16x20, and 24x30.
Click Add 7 Products in the top right corner, then click Next.
Add your listing images (or skip them if they already exist on your Etsy listing).
Choose a shipping profile (or do this later), then click Next to move to the variation step.
Step 2: Match Your Etsy Variations
Your Etsy listing uses two dropdowns: Size and Display Options (e.g., Unframed / Acrylic). You’ll want to match that exact structure in Artelo to keep everything aligned.
Click the red trash icon to delete Artelo’s default grouping and recreate the variation structure to match Etsy.
Under Variations, first click Size.
Then, under Select Grouping Options, click Frame.
Press the yellow Edit button on the second variation group.
Rename it to Display Options (to match your Etsy listing).
Press Add Option, type Acrylic, and click Save.
Underneath, you’ll see grayed-out variants, specifically 24x30 in Natural Premium Oak and 24x30 in Black Premium Oak.
(Optional) Enter your retail prices now or do this after connecting your listing.
Enter your listing details, or skip for now.
Click Done to finish the template.
Step 3: Create Your Product
Back on the Templates page, find the template you just created.
Click Create Product Set.
Click Add Designs, upload your artwork, name your product, and click Done.
Step 4: Connect to Your Etsy Listing
On the next screen, click Connect to an existing listing.
Choose which settings to override:
Search for your Etsy listing by title and select it.
Match each Artelo product to the correct Etsy variant:
For the new framed options, click the green plus icon next to each framed product.
Step 5: Finalize and Publish
Add listing images (if needed).
Choose a shipping profile (if not done earlier).
Double-check your variants to ensure accuracy.
If you have frame preview images in your listing images, enable “Set variant images based on this variation” under Display Options.
Set your retail prices underneath each variant.
Enter your SKUs (only SKUs with asterisks are required).
Make sure pricing for acrylic variants is still correct; Artelo will carry over this data, even though it won’t fulfill them.
To change the image for a variant, click the trash can icon on the image and choose a new one from your listing images.
Review your listing details and make any final edits.
Click Approve Changes and Publish your listing.
Now, your listing includes:
Unframed and framed options for 12x16 and 16x20 (fulfilled by Artelo)
A 24x30 unframed print (printed by Artelo but not framed)
Your acrylic options remain intact, connected to your original fulfillment method, undisturbed, and fully functional.
Final Etsy structure:
Case 5: Connecting Only the Sizes Artelo Supports While Leaving Unsupported Sizes Unlinked
For listings that include one or more sizes that Artelo does not fulfill at all
Sometimes, a seller offers a mix of sizes in a single listing, most of which Artelo can fulfill, but one or more that fall outside Artelo’s size range. This guide shows how to connect only the supported sizes, leaving unsupported ones (like oversized prints) unlinked and untouched.
Example:
The seller currently offers 12x16, 16x20, and 40x60 unframed prints.
They want to:
Connect 12x16 and 16x20 unframed prints to Artelo
Leave the 40x60 variant completely untouched, so it continues being fulfilled elsewhere
This setup is useful if you offer a wide range of sizes but want to use Artelo to fulfill only those that match our available dimensions. The rest of your listing can remain exactly as it is without any changes or disruptions.
Here’s how we’d set that up using this example:
Step 1: Create a Product Template
Go to your Templates page in Artelo and click Create Template.
Select which store(s) you want products from this template to be published to.
Click Add Product Type → choose Individual Art Print.
Choose your paper type, then check the box for Unframed.
Select the sizes Artelo can fulfill (12x16 and 16x20).
Click Add 2 Products in the top right corner.
Name your template and click Next.
Add your listing images (or skip them if your Etsy listing already includes them).
Choose a shipping profile (or skip it for now), then click Configure Variants to continue.
On the next screen, you’ll see your 12x16 and 16x20 sizes.
Even though Artelo won't fulfill your 40x60 print, you’ll need to include it in the variation structure so your listing stays consistent and accessible to customers.
(Optional) Enter your retail prices and listing details now, or wait until after you connect your listing.
Click Done to finish the template.
Choose the settings you want to override:
Search for your Etsy listing by title and select it.
Map each Artelo product to the correct Etsy variant:
Step 4: Finalize and Publish
Add listing images (optional, if needed).
Choose a shipping profile (if not already selected).
Double-check that all your variants are correct.
Set your retail prices under each variant.
Make sure to enter SKUs for each variant. Only SKUs with asterisks are required.
To update variant images:
Review your listing details and make any final edits.
Click Approve Changes and then Publish your listing.
Now your Etsy listing is live with:
12x16 and 16x20 unframed prints fulfilled by Artelo
A 40x60 unframed print left fully intact and fulfilled by your original supplier
No changes are made to the variants you don’t want us to handle, so your listing structure and customer experience remain smooth and uninterrupted.
