Artelo’s Etsy integration is designed to keep your store’s products, orders, and shipping settings in sync while giving you control over when and how updates occur. Below is a breakdown of how it works, including automatic processes, manual sync options, and important considerations when managing listings.
Summary of how the Etsy Integration works:
Orders update automatically every 30 minutes.
Daily automatic inventory sync (previously this was hourly)
Shipping profiles sync only on onboarding or when triggered by an error.
Manual sync option updates listings, detects deleted listings, and refreshes shipping profiles.
If you edit a listing in Etsy, manually sync to update Artelo immediately instead of waiting 24 hours.
Avoid editing grouping names for connected variants outside Artelo.
Error handling ensures incomplete edits or creations are rolled back.
Deleted listings stay in Artelo, marked for reference.
Synchronization with Etsy
Orders: Orders are synchronized every 30 minutes, so your order data stays up to date throughout the day.
Listings: Artelo automatically synchronizes your Etsy inventory once per day. This daily sync updates product information but does not detect deleted listings on Etsy, meaning those items will still appear as active in Artelo unless you manually update them.
Shipping Profiles: Shipping profiles work differently. After your initial onboarding, Artelo will not automatically sync your shipping profiles unless an error occurs—specifically, if you select a deleted shipping profile during the create/connect flow. When that happens, the profile is refreshed automatically.
Creating and Editing Etsy Listings in Artelo: When you connect an Etsy variant to Artelo, the system identifies it by the variation and grouping names. Because of this, you should avoid editing grouping names for connected variants directly in Etsy, as it may cause disconnects.
If you create or edit an Etsy listing in Artelo and an error occurs mid-process (due to an Etsy API issue), Artelo will undo the changes. For edits, the listing is reverted to its original state.
For new listings, the listing will be deleted entirely to avoid incomplete or broken entries.
If you attempt to edit a listing that has already been deleted on Etsy—but is not yet marked as deleted in Artelo—you’ll see an error message notifying you of its deletion, and Artelo will then mark it accordingly.
Deleted Etsy listings are never removed from Artelo. Instead, they remain in your account but are clearly marked with a “Deleted” label. This ensures you have a full historical record without accidentally removing linked data.
Manual Syncing: To give you more control, the integration includes a manual sync option in your store settings under the “Sync” tab. This allows you to synchronize both inventory and shipping profiles at any time. There’s no limit to how often you can run a manual sync, but it can’t be used while a sync is already in progress. Importantly, a manual sync will detect and mark deleted listings so they are clearly labeled as “Deleted” in Artelo.
