1. When Your Wallet Balance Covers the Full Cost

Scenario: Wallet balance > order cost and no auto-fund is triggered.

  • The wallet balance is deducted at the time you place the order.

  • The order transitions to In Production without issues.

  • No other payment method or auto-fund action is needed.

2. When Your Wallet Balance Covers the Cost, But Falls Below Auto-Fund Trigger

Scenario: Wallet balance > order cost, but the new balance after deduction drops below your auto-fund trigger amount.

  • The wallet balance is deducted immediately at order placement.

  • The order transitions to In Production successfully.

  • Artelo attempts to auto-fund your wallet, but if this transaction fails (for example, due to a declined card), you’ll receive a notification letting you know that auto-funding didn’t go through.

  • The failed auto-fund doesn’t affect your current order—it continues through production as normal.

3. When Your Wallet Balance Is Lower Than the Order Cost and Auto-Fund Is Not Enabled

Scenario: Wallet balance < order cost and no auto-funding set up.

  • If you don’t have a primary payment method set, the order cannot be placed.

  • If you do have a primary payment method:

    • Your wallet is drawn down to $0 at the time of order placement.

    • When Artelo attempts to move your order to In Production:

      • If payment succeeds: The order goes through normally.

      • If payment fails: The order remains in Received, and the wallet amount that was deducted is restored to your balance.

4. When Your Wallet Balance Is Lower Than the Order Cost and Auto-Fund Is Enabled

Scenario: Wallet balance < order cost and auto-funding is turned on.

  • Your wallet is set to $0 at the time of order placement.

  • Artelo attempts to auto-fund your wallet, but the outcome of this attempt doesn’t affect the immediate order flow.

  • When the system tries to move the order to In Production:

    • If there’s no valid payment method on file, Artelo’s existing logic prevents the order from processing further.

    • If payment succeeds: The order proceeds normally.

    • If payment fails: The order stays in Received, and the wallet amount that was deducted is restored to your balance.

In Summary

Artelo’s wallet system ensures that your order payments are always handled in the correct order of priority:

  1. Wallet funds are always used first.

  2. If funds are insufficient, Artelo falls back on your payment method or auto-fund settings.

  3. If a payment cannot be completed, your order stays on hold, and any deducted wallet balance is returned to you.

This process helps maintain accurate accounting and smooth order fulfillment, no matter how you choose to fund your wallet.
