Now it's time to review and finalize the content of your listings. This step ensures everything looks the way you want before your product sets are created and any changes are made to your listings.

What This Step Does

This step gives you control over your listing content. You can update titles, descriptions, shipping profiles, option names, personalization settings, and tags. All directly from the Excel file. Keep in mind that any settings applied to the templates you created (e.g., descriptions, prices, shipping profiles, option names) have temporarily been applied to your listings. This step lets you approve those changes, if there are any. In most cases, only a quick review is needed to confirm that the remaining listing details are accurate and complete.

Instructions

1. Generate the File

Click the Generate button in the Generate Excel File section. In this file, each row is a listing you choose to update in the previous step.

Understanding the export:

Let's walk through the file in a bit of detail. There are three sections of columns. The columns in red are editable while the columns in grey are read-only.

Group 1 - Listing Identifiers:

  • These columns identify the listing by referencing the store, the main image, the listing URL, and the URL for the listing in Artelo. These columns are there only for your reference.

Group 2 - Listing Updates

  • These columns are all in red (except for one), meaning you can edit them. All of the possible changes that could have been applied based on template were applied here.

  • Carefully review these cells.

Group 3 - Original Listing Values

  • These columns are meant for your reference. They represent the original values of your listing before any changes from the templates were applied.

  • Do not change any of these values, but use them for reference or to revert any changes.

2. Review the file and make any required changes

  • Titles & Descriptions: Update any listing titles or descriptions as needed.

  • Tags: Import your existing tags from column X.

  • Shipping Profiles: Assign the correct shipping profile if it differs from your template or if no profile was set in the template

  • Option Names & Personalization: Adjust option labels and any personalization instructions for listings that require them.

Helpful Tips

  • If a listing doesn’t have any tags, this is the time to add them. The tags you enter will be added alongside any that already exist unless the listing is completely missing tags.

  • The SKU Prefix only applies to variants that don’t already have SKUs. Artelo will not override existing SKUs unless the field is empty.

  • Double-check your spelling and formatting, what you enter here is what will appear on your live listings.

  • You can leave any field blank to keep its existing value, with the exception of Shipping Profile and Option Names, which are driven by your template.

3. Upload your file and click Submit

Once you click submit, you'll be prompted to confirm your changes.

Below is a high-level summary of how your template settings affect the listings they’re applied to.

Listing Images

  • If added to template: Images are appended to the listing.

  • If not added to template: No image changes are made.

Shipping Profile

  • If added to template: Overrides the shipping profile on the listing.

  • If not added to template: The listing keeps its current shipping profile.

Variation Structure (Required)

  • Must be set on the template.

  • Always resets variations on the listing to match the template.

Variant Prices (Required)

  • Must be set on the template.

  • Always resets prices on the listing to match the template.

Title

  • If added to template: Replaces the title on the listing.

  • If not added to template: The current title remains unchanged.

Descriptions

  • If added to template: Replaces the description on the listing.

  • If not added to template: The current description remains unchanged.

SKUs

  • If not set in the Excel file: SKUs are reset to null.

  • If set in the Excel file: The SKU prefix is applied or you assign individual SKUs in "Updated Variants" tab.

⚠️ Important: Review Before Uploading

Clicking “Yes” will apply all changes and create product sets based on the data in your Excel files. This action will also update your listings according to the templates and details you’ve provided. We highly recommend updating a single listing first, then uploading a small batch to confirm everything looks and behaves as expected. Once you're confident the setup is correct, you can move on to larger groups of listings.

Wrapping up

You can use this process in whatever capacity you'd like. Some users take things slowly, others launch many physical listings all at once.

Fulfilling orders

  • During this process, Artelo will create product sets for each listing that you chose to update in step 1.

  • These product sets are created as "draft connected," meaning that they are still missing design files.

  • Once your first order comes in for any of these listings, you'll be prompted to upload the designs for the product set from the orders page. After uploading the designs for the first order, any subsequent orders can be automatically fulfilled.

You’re All Set!

That’s it. Your listings are now connected to Artelo with the correct product sets and updated details on your listings. You can repeat this process anytime you need to onboard more listings or make structural updates to your catalog.

If you’d like to reuse the product sets you just created on another store, like we’re doing in this tutorial with Shopify, move on to the next final part of this tutorial: Connecting with Existing Product Sets.

This final step walks you through how to apply your existing setup to a new batch of listings using existing product sets.
