Many Etsy sellers focus on digital art, but while these listings receive traffic, the average order value tends to be low. Artelo offers a solution by allowing sellers to provide physical unframed or framed versions of their digital art. This enhances customer convenience and significantly increases the average order value. In this article, we'll explore how to link a digital Etsy listing to a physical one using Artelo.

Why Offer Physical Versions of Digital Listings?

Offering physical versions of digital art provides several benefits:

  • Increased Order Value: Customers may opt for a framed design over a digital download, raising the average order value.

  • Enhanced Customer Experience: Customers no longer need to print and frame the design, making the process more convenient.

How It Works on Etsy

Etsy supports two types of listings: physical and digital. However, a workaround is needed since sellers cannot add physical variants to digital listings. This involves creating a new physical listing for the design and “linking” it to the existing digital listing.

Step-by-Step Guide to Creating and Linking Listings

1. Create a Physical Listing:

  • Go to your Etsy store on Artelo’s “stores” page and navigate to the “digital” tab.

  • Select a digital listing and click “link to physical listing,” then “create new listing.”

  • Click “create new product set” or search for a product set you’ve already created.

  • Choose the product you want to sell (i.e., individual art print).

  • Choose your paper type, sizes, framing options, etc., for your physical listing.

  • Add your designs (the same art from your digital listing) and finalize your product.

2. Add Images from Your Digital Listing:

  • You’ll be prompted to select images already used in your digital listing to add to the physical listing.

  • Configure your variants, select a shipping profile, set retail prices, and provide listing details.

  • Approve and publish your physical listing.

3. Edit the Digital Listing:

  • After publishing your physical listing, Artelo will automatically pull up your digital listing’s information for editing.

  • Keep the existing listing details but include a link to the new physical listing in the description. Artelo provides two suggested URLs that you can customize.

  • Add one of Artelo’s premade listing images to your digital listing to highlight the physical URL.

  • Publish the updated digital listing.

Visualizing the Changes on Etsy

Once published, your Etsy store will display the artwork's digital and physical copies, making it easy for customers to choose their preferred version.
