In this article, we’ll walk through creating your first product on our platform. We'll start with a single product to show how it fits into the overall process, and later, we'll add more products to complete the setup.

Key Terms: Templates, Product Sets, and Products

Products: The individual items sold, such as a 12x16 framed print. Each variant in an Etsy or Shopify listing corresponds to a product.

Product Sets: Groups of products that include various sizes and frame options for a single design. These sets function like folders representing a single e-commerce listing with multiple options.

Templates: Pre-configured settings that streamline the creation of multiple products with similar options, saving time and ensuring consistency.

Creating a Template

Templates are created on the templates page. First, click “Create Template.” Here are the following steps:

  1. Select Stores: Choose the store where you wish to publish future listings created from this template.

  2. Name the Template: Give your template a descriptive name.

  3. Select Product Type: You can choose individual art prints, private-label frames, art print set of 3, etc.

  4. Define Specifications: Specify print orientation, paper type, frame options, and sizes.

  5. Upload Listing Images: If applicable, add images that will be used for every product in this template.

  6. Choose Shipping Profile: Use the default or select a different profile.

  7. Set Retail Prices: Use the bulk pricing option to set prices efficiently.

  8. Add Title and Description: Enter details that will apply to all products using this template.

  9. Finalize: Choose to upload as a draft or make it customizable. Add listing tags for better searchability.

Creating Your First Product

Once your template is ready, create your first product:

  1. Create a Product Set: Click “Create Product Set” under the template you want to use. Name the set.

  2. Add Designs: Upload design files for each product variation.

  3. Finalize Product: Review details, ensure everything is correct, and click “Done.”

  4. Select Placement: Choose “add product to your store” to create a new listing. “connect product to existing store listings” to add the product to an existing listing, or “create an order for this product” to place a one-time order. In this example, we’ll click “add product to your store.” We’ll review connecting products to existing store listings in a different article.

  5. Select Stores: Choose the store where you wish to publish this listing.

  6. Upload Listing Images: Add images that haven’t been uploaded to your template if necessary.

  7. Choose Shipping Profile: Use the default or select a different profile.

  8. Listing Variations: Customize options like sizes, framing styles, and paper types.

  9. Add Retail Price: Add the retail price manually or click “set retail price in bulk.”

  10. Assign Images: Assign specific images to variations based on options like size on the bottom of the “configure variants” page.

  11. Adjust Options: Rename size options or combine them for simplicity if necessary.

  12. Rearrange Options: Organize variations logically, such as alphabetically, if necessary.

  13. Final Review: Update the listing details and tags from the template and publish if everything looks good.

Product Sets and Templates

We’ve created our first template and product set, which can be reused. To see them, go to "My Products." Sometimes, you might need to create a unique product. For instance, you can create a new product without a template for private-label frames.

Adding Unique Products

Here's how to add a standalone product (such as private-label frames):

  1. Go to Product Catalog: Select “picture frames” or the product of your choice.

  2. Create Product Set: Click “create product set.” Choose the size and frame color, name the set, and add it to a store of your choice.

  3. Upload Images: Choose your listing images.

  4. Adjust SKUs and Prices: Set a shipping profile and add retail prices.

  5. Listing Details: Add a listing name and details.

  6. Add Listing Tags: Ensure your item is searchable.

  7. Review and Publish: Finalize your listing if everything is correct.
